Jacob, Imogen Cloet and John Alder were commissioned by the Tyneside Cinema to make a collage with all the sounds, and some of the smells, they associated with the idea of ‘the flicks’, from the munch of popcorn to the skating back of the red curtain. In ‘Saturday Matinee’ the rain is told to shush and the street unwinds with the clicking of the projector…
